I really love the ‘80s Camaro body style, and I saw this ‘86 with the 5.0 v8 being sold. Unfortunately it’s being sold for $7995, which is more that I bought my Grand Prix for. Still, it looks really clean.

In Michigan, no car from the 80's is clean lol.

Always hold out for the IROC-Z of that generation.

Yeah, but I'm a dreamer, :p

What's the difference?

I know, right?! Normally I don't like gold but this car pulls it off nicely.

The IROC-Z is a half inch lower, and has a better suspension (google “iroc-z wonderbar”) and grid tail lights. Same motor and trans as the Z28. Oh, and dont forget the best feature of all, rear louvers.
That generation RS had a Borg Warner rear end that only went into the RS, if my horrible memory serves me correctly.

The BW was available on the IROC/L98 for a few years as well.

You only want that if it's the TPI 5.0...the q-jet 5.0 was junk and made like 160hp, the TPI engine made 215 and can be made to perform nicely. There's also a TPI 5.7, but it only ever came with an automatic from the factory.

It looks fast though!!!!

That is a clean 3rd gen!

Most 3rd generation Camaros do!
Here’s an ‘88 IROC I had when I was 17. 305 TPI with a stick, t-tops, power nothing...crank windows, manual locks, no a/c. One of the best cars I've ever owned, handled like a go kart.

That sound like an ideal car, :).

Dang that’s a lot for a 80's Camaro isn't it?

Indeed it is.

LOVE IT!!!!
Price is too high for a 305/auto though. The prices on these are starting to climb though.

Well it’s Detroit muscle in Michigan, nostalgia runs high here, lol.

Thats what I paid for an ‘87 IROC in 1991! I miss that piece of shit.

If it’s as clean in person and underneath as it looks in the pictures, it’s not wildly overpriced. I’d say it’s priced for the inevitible lower offers that come in. I’m sure you could pick that up for $6,500-7,000, in which case you’d be doing OK.
